Erna is a versatile artist who loves to express herself through various mediums.
She was raised on a lei farm in Makaha, Hawaii. Her rich heritage of Hawaiian and Chinese ancestry provides a unique background in her work that reflect the interrelated life she leads from abstract forms to symbolic icons. Experimenting with new mediums and forms keeps her aware of the many options of expression.
She has displayed work at the East Hawaii Cultural Center, Hawaii County Mayor's Foyer, Wailoa Art Center, The Center Stage Gallery, Lehua's in Hilo, Pahoa Arts and Crafts Guild, Bakkus Art Gallery in Honolulu, La Pateria, and Lahaina Art Gallery in Maui.

Performance Art

Music has always been a natural part of Erna's life. She has come from a very musical Hawaiian lineage.
She plays many instruments, sings and composes music that serves to inspire. A passion of Erna's is "Oriental" or "Belly Dance" which she has pursued for over thirty years as a performer, teacher, and producer. In her workshop "Alchemy of the Dance," she presents the metaphysical and spiritual aspects of Belly Dance.
As a descendant of Kumu Hulas, she is an avid Hawaiian "Auwana" and "Kahiko" performer and instructor.
